Immediately after the floods, on 17th May 2014. the Union of Employers’ Associations of RS held a meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of RS.
It was decided to start a humanitarian action for flood relief. UEARS was given a “Magrel” warehouse in the business area “Incel” in Banja Luka, and we invited our members to, according to their possibilities, donate necessary goods (food, water, hygiene products etc.), or to donate money for buying items to help. Logistics and security guards for the warehouse were provided by SHP Celex a.d. Banja Luka. Also, we appealed for help to european organizations of employers, and asked our members to forward the appeal for help to their foreign business partners in English.

Donations of money are spent mostly to pay for transportation of humanitarian aid from abroad, because the average value of the aid in a tug was around 10 to 15 thousand euros, and this way a much better effect is achieved. In total, the UEARS paid 4 such transport of humanitarian aid, the receipt and packaging were carried out by volunteers of NGO “New Generation” in Magrel warehouse, and distribution is provided by the “Business Club”, but one of the trucks from Karlsruhe was intended for the general hospital Doboj, and the vehicle was sent directly to the specified hospital in Doboj. For the rest of the donations in cash, we purchased the canned meat (for a small price we received from the “Moj Market” d.o.o.), which, together with all collected donations in kind from UEARS Magrel storage, were sent to Bijeljina, in the City Committee of the Red Cross. Donation of Petroprojekt d.o.o. Bratunac in the form of 12 beds and 12 mattresses has also been sent to Bijeljina, and the distribution is done as follows: 8 beds and 8 mattresses were given to the Red Cross in Bijeljina, and 4 bands and mattresses were given directly to flooded families in Bijeljina.
The costs of transport of humanitarian aid to Bijeljina were paid by Benz d.o.o. company.
